Chaat is a mixture of crisp fried bread, potato, onion, gram or chickpeas, chili sauce, dried ginger and tamarind sauce with tangy-salty spices. Fresh green coriander leaves and yogurt is used to garnish it.

There are many variants of chaat available in India which includes aloo chaat, chana chaat, papri chaat and dahi bhalla chaat.

9. Samosa

Samosa is a fried dish, with a savory filling in it, which includes spiced potatoes, peas and onions. It is served hot with a sauce or chutney. Tea and Samosa combination is quite famous in India.


There are various kinds of samosa available in India based upon there different filling. Some popular ones are potato samosa, chhole samosa, punjabi samosa, cauliflower samosa and paneer samosa.

8. Kachori

It is round flattened ball made of all-purpose flour filled with a stuffing of baked mixture of besan (washed and crushed gram flour), yellow moong lentils or Urad dal (washed and crushed horse beans), red chili powder, black pepper, salt with other spices. Dosa is kind of pancake, made from a fermented batter which is prepared by rice and black lentils. It is also originated in South India.
